Performance Training

MPI’s Introduction to Composites is a course that serves as the first step to learning the principles of composites manufacturing. No previous experience is required as the course is designed to teach the participant the language of composites manufacturing. The course is a mix of classroom and live simulation. The content areas covered by the course are:

  • Composites environmental, health & safety
  • Composites materials
  • Composites manufacturing methods

MPI’s Composite Structures course is a week long course that is the second step to learning the principles of composites manufacturing. The course is a mix of classroom and hands on composites manufacturing. It is designed to give the participants a hands-on experience with the composite materials and production methods used in industry. At the end of the course, participants will have successfully produced a composite structure. Participants will receive a composites book that covers the week long course. The content areas covered by the course are:

  • Composites materials
  • Vacuum bagging
  • Composites structures
  • Curing composites

MPI’s Lean Composites course is aimed at teaching the principles of lean composites manufacturing. The course is a mix of classroom and hands on composites manufacturing. It is designed to give the participants additional hands-on experience with the composite materials and production methods used in industry. They will understand the importance of lean manufacturing and will have demonstrated the ability to apply lean concepts to a composites manufacturing environment. The content areas covered by the course are:

  • Lean principles
  • 5S and visual controls
  • Composites value stream
  • Lean composites implementation

MPI’s Injection Molding course is designed for employees who are involved in operating, maintaining or managing injection molding machines. This is a three-day course. The content areas covered by the course are:

  • Injection molding basics
  • Troubleshooting defects
  • Processing for profit
  • Understanding plastics
  • Injection mold setup
  • Establishing an injection molding process
  • Understanding processing parameters
  • Process control systems
  • Injection molding hydraulics
  • Injection mold maintenance

MPI’s Extrusion Training is a two-day course designed for employees involved in operating, maintaining or managing extrusion equipment. The content areas covered by the course are:

  • Extrusion machinery
  • Instrumentation and control
  • Plastics and plastic properties in extrusion
  • How an extruder works
  • How to run an extruder
  • How to troubleshoot extrusion problems
  • Understanding plastics
